A NOTE ABOUT THE MINE: The mine is claimed by the Daisy Mountain Rock and Mineral Club. After the untimely death of one of their active members (who was instrumental in the club purchasing the claim), the members of the club decided to rename the mine to the "Dave Haneline Memorial Mine" in his honor.
THIS IS A PAY TO COLLECT TRIP - $20/PERSON: CASH will be collected by trip leader at the McDonald's Parking lot.
MEET TIME and LOCATION: Wickenburg, directions emailed to MSA members who RSVP Register for trip. We will leave for the mine at 8:15 sharp.
END TIME: ~4:00 PM
LIMITED TRIP: no
TRAVEL NOTE: The last 0.3 miles up to the mine is rough. High clearance required.
VEHICLE: High clearance vehicle is required for the last trek up the hill. Normal, moderate clearance will be sufficient to drive to the calcite hill on the claim.
SAFETY: Gloves, hat, boots, protective clothing, water
RECOMMENDED TOOLS: hammer, chisels, pry bar, bucket, wrapping paper
MATERIAL: Cerussite is the goal of the collector at the mine. However, nice specimens of bladed barite is common along with amethyst, smoky quartz and some red fluorescent calcite
