BLUE BALL MINE
MSA FIELD TRIP INFORMATION
MSA is heading to Blue Ball Mine to collect Azurite and Malachite 'balls'. This is a fun trip and requires high clearance vehicles with 4-weel drive. The road is rough!
Here you will find the famous Azurite nodules at the Blue Ball Mine. The kaolinite deposit and dumps have been covered with material quarried from a pit above the mine so almost no kaolinite can be found at this time. A pipe cutter can be used to split the azurite nodules of you are curious to see what is inside.
