BILL FREESE has been trying to fill the void created when the collecting of peridotite from Peridot Mesa was suspended by the tribal council. It is still acceptable for the claim owners to collect peridotite and sell it elsewhere. Bill has made contact with one such claim owner and is picking up buckets of the rock for sale. Here is his announcement:
Hi MSA,
We have set up a meeting with our Peridot vendor, Emery, for Tuesday, March 28th at 10 AM in Apache Junction. If you still want a bucket of Peridot, YOU MUST LET ME KNOW. The buckets of Peridot are $55 per 5-gallon bucket with a maximum of 2. We will pick up the Peridot from Emery on Tuesday morning and then meet everyone to hand out the buckets later that evening.
The meeting spot for the Peridot pickup will be the Deer Valley Towne Center at the intersection of I-17 and AZ-101 at the north side of Phoenix. We will meet at 7 PM at the west end of the parking lot near 31st Avenue. I have a map attached.
Also, If I could get a couple volunteers with trucks to help me pick up the Peridot in Apache Junction on Tuesday morning, PLEASE let me know.
In this activity, please use my email or phone and not the MSA sign up.
Thank you.
